About the tank-driving experience

How would the groom like to take control of an armoured tank, feel the immense power of this steel monster and choose the route himself?

It’s easy to see why tank driving is one of the most popular Budapest stag do activities. This unusual, adrenaline-filled experience gives the groom-to-be the chance to operate an extraordinary military vehicle across a specially designed off-road course.

How the activity works

• Your group will be collected in Budapest and taken by private minibus to the tank-driving site outside the city.
• After arriving, you’ll receive a short safety briefing and an introduction to the vehicle from the professional instructors. The groom then takes the controls while the rest of the group rides aboard the tank.
• You can choose between two formats:
• 30 minutes of tank driving for the groom
• 20 minutes of driving for the groom, followed by an extreme demonstration lap with a former military instructor at the controls
• The off-road course is designed to showcase the vehicle’s power and deliver maximum excitement while the activity remains professionally supervised.
• After the experience, your private minibus will take the group back to central Budapest.

Location and timing

• Activity location: Private outdoor driving course outside Budapest
• Tank time: 30 minutes in total
• Approximate lap duration: 8 to 12 minutes
• Transfer time: Approximately 45–60 minutes each way, depending on traffic and your collection address
• Total duration: Approximately three hours, including transfers and preparation
• Maximum group size: 12 participants
• The private minibus booking includes up to one hour at the activity site. This can be extended if you add a meal or request more time in advance.

Availability and clothing

• Tank driving is available throughout the year, except during thunderstorms, heavy snowfall or other conditions that make the course unsafe.
• The experience takes place outdoors, so participants should dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend comfortable clothes and sturdy, closed-toe footwear that you do not mind getting dirty.

Options and upgrades

VIP tank driving

• Upgrade to the VIP tank-driving package, which includes at least four 10-minute driving sessions.
• This option is particularly suitable for larger groups or groups that want more participants to drive.

VIP tank driving with a GAZ-66

• The VIP tank driving with GAZ-66 package includes:
• An extreme forest transfer in a GAZ-66 military truck
• At least four 10-minute tank-driving sessions for the group

Add food and drinks

• A freshly prepared gourmet burger can be served at the activity site while your group completes the driving experience. The burger is accompanied by a drink and nachos.
• Alternatively, your group can enjoy a traditional Hungarian goulash meal with a drink and strudel for dessert.
• Add your preferred menu in the comments when booking or tell Stagventure afterwards. Meal requests should preferably be submitted at least one or two days before the activity.

Activities to combine with tank driving

Tank driving, preparation and transfers will take up much of the afternoon. For the same day, we recommend choosing a contrasting city-centre activity that does not require another long private transfer.

Important information

• The advertised per-person price is based on a group of 10 booking at least two activities.
• The standard tank-driving package accommodates a maximum of 12 participants.
• Groups of more than 12 should choose one of the VIP tank-driving packages.
• Only the groom drives in the standard package, but the other group members can ride aboard the tank.
• The organiser reserves the right to refuse anyone who arrives intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
• The activity may be stopped immediately in the event of dangerous or inappropriate behaviour.
• Every participant must follow the instructor’s safety directions.
• Availability remains subject to weather, ground conditions and vehicle maintenance.
• Timings are approximate and may be affected by traffic or operational requirements.
