What does it feel like to take control of a real tracked armoured vehicle, move the enormous weight of this steel machine and choose the route yourself?

Tank driving is one of Stagventure’s most popular Budapest stag activities for good reason. It is unusual, powerful and packed with adrenaline—and this group package allows several participants to get behind the controls.

Your group begins with an extreme demonstration lap driven by a former military instructor. Afterwards, multiple group members take turns driving an MT-LB tracked vehicle around a purpose-built off-road course.

It is an unforgettable experience for the groom and his mates—and an ideal choice for groups that want to share the driving.

How the activity works

• Your group will be collected in Budapest and transported by private minibus to the tank-driving site outside the city.
• On arrival, the instructors provide a short introduction and explain how to operate the vehicle safely.
• The entire group can then climb aboard the tank. The experience begins with an extreme demonstration lap lasting approximately eight to 12 minutes, with a former military instructor at the controls.
• After the demonstration, selected members of the group take turns driving the tank. Each participant driving session lasts approximately 10 minutes.
• The number of available driving sessions depends on your group size:
• Three participant driving sessions for groups of 4–12
• Four participant driving sessions for groups of 13–17
• Five participant driving sessions for groups of 18–24
• The course is designed to demonstrate the power and off-road capabilities of the tracked vehicle while providing an exciting experience for everyone aboard.
• At the end of the activity, your private minibus will take the group back to Budapest.

Driving time by group size

Groups of 4–12 participants:

• One extreme instructor-driven lap
• Three 10-minute participant driving sessions
• Approximately 40 minutes aboard the tank in total
• Up to three group members can drive

Groups of 13–17 participants:

• One extreme instructor-driven lap
• Four 10-minute participant driving sessions
• Approximately 50 minutes aboard the tank in total
• Up to four group members can drive

Groups of 18–24 participants:

• One extreme instructor-driven lap
• Five 10-minute participant driving sessions
• Approximately 60 minutes aboard the tank in total
• Up to five group members can drive

Each participant driving session can be assigned to a different member of the group. The groom can drive one or all of the sessions, but the experience is not limited to him.

Location and timing

• Activity location: Outdoor tank-driving course outside Budapest
• Time aboard the tank: Approximately 40–60 minutes, depending on group size
• Duration of each session: Approximately eight to 12 minutes
• Transfer time: Approximately 45–60 minutes each way
• Total duration: Approximately three to four hours, including transfers and preparation
• Maximum group size: 24 participants
• The exact transfer time depends on your collection address and traffic conditions.
• The minibus booking includes up to two hours at the activity site. The time on site can be extended if you arrange a meal or another option in advance.

Availability and clothing

The activity is available throughout the year, except during thunderstorms, heavy snowfall or other conditions that make the course unsafe.

Because the experience takes place outdoors, participants should dress appropriately for the weather.

Food options

A meal can be prepared at the activity site while your group completes the driving sessions.

• For groups of up to 12 participants, choose the groom-only package. This option gives the groom three 10-minute driving sessions while the other group members ride aboard the vehicle.

Tank driving with a GAZ-66 forest transfer

• Groups of up to 16 can add an extreme journey through the forest aboard a GAZ-66 military truck.
• Depending on the group size, this package also includes four or five 10-minute tank-driving sessions.

The group can climb aboard together, subject to the vehicle’s capacity and the instructor’s safety directions.

Are private transfers included?

Yes. Private return minibus transfers between Budapest and the activity site are included.

How long should we allow for the complete activity?

Allow approximately three to four hours, including private transfers, preparation and the tank-driving experience.

Do we need a driving licence?

No driving licence is generally required because the activity takes place on private land under instructor supervision.

What should we wear?

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe footwear that may become dusty or muddy.

Can we arrange food at the site?

Yes. A gourmet burger menu or traditional Hungarian goulash meal can be arranged in advance for an additional charge.
